lame week

Dated: February 18, 2013

Yeah we had a lame one here in San Jose.

Tuesday Elder VIdal was sick so we couldn't do work. So we just slept cleaned the apartment a little bit played chess, which he is REALLY good at. Not too terribly awesome.

Then on Wednesday I was feeling ill as well, I would have loved to do work but I had to stay pretty close to a toilet at all times so no work for us. We did the same things again, but with a little more focus on cleaning.

Thursday we had a district meeting, it was a good one about using the Christlike attributes in our how to begin teaching with people. Really eye opening. Then we were supposed to have an apartment check. But the Zone Leaders came later than we were expecting and left later than we were hoping. Not cool at all. So because of that we had no work on that day.

Then Friday we finally had some work yayyyyyy. Wasn't too amazing but it was alright I guess. We gave a baptismal commitment to one of our investigators, she was like so excited to have it. So hopefully we see more progress from her, she has been reading the Book of Mormon which is the fastest way to have people come unto Christ. So hopefully things go slightly easier from here.

Saturday was pretty fun as well. We kept trying to find people to go on splits with us to help make up for the loss of the two days. But we couldn't find any. So we just went along  no problems. Well except that we got punted and then swarmed by children on all sides. Normally it is no problem but these were the kind that just wanted to keep touching me at like every turn and wouldn't leave us alone. They seem to love my arm hair. But after we got punted we sat on the beach and just looked, until of course that we saw that a rain storm was coming in so we just left. Then as we were walking home we decided again to try hitching a ride. We caught one our first try. We didn't recognize him but he called us elders and we felt fine so we hopped in his car. Turns out he was a former investigator a long time ago and his sister was baptized that long too and now lives with her husband in Utah. So we left him with a pamphlet and left on our way. I love not having coincidences on the mission. Life is so much fun that way.

Sunday was alright I guess, we helped some people fill out missionary application forms after church. Then we went to work, we had splits and it was pretty not awesome. I was with the Ward mission leader so that was cool. But we were royally punted hard. Not cool at all. We eventually found the people we were looking for and were able to teach them but it was not fun getting punted that hard. The problem was that because everyone was so close to each other that there was like not time in between travel times to allow us to just keep cycling through them. But we moved on.

Well that was it for this week, saw the hand of the Lord in all that we did and were richly rewarded for our diligence to the commandments of him as well. Hope you all had a wonderful week too.
