Kamusta Kayo Lahat?
Happy 2013. WE MADE IT.
This week was pretty interesting. A lot of fun stuff happening and some other not so fun stuff.
The fun stuff is that we taught Sister Aiko, our investigator, about tithing. Good news-she has already been paying it. No questions asked. Well,- just what did the tithing go to-was asked. She is getting married on Tuesday and I have been more excited for her wedding than like any other wedding in like the whole world.
Sister Marjorie, another investigator, has decided that she doesn't want to be baptized anymore because of some persecutions. She is still wiling to listen to us so that is good but her desire has gone down just a touch. But luckily she can be saved still. But yeah Wednesday was not a good day, except we got all the lessons we wanted to.
Then on Thursday the only thing of any note was that it rained, hard. Like all during studies and all during lunch. That was about it.
Friday no good. Got Punted hard. So we went tracting. For once had some good success. We didn't get any lessons, but we did give out all the brochures I had brought to give. Then as we were coming home our bishop was standing outside so we talked to him. He had asked how we had gotten inside our home...we told him we switched the doorknob. Because like all bishops he holds all the "keys" of the ward. (I know lame but hang with me)
Saturday we had some fun. The Sisters have been teaching someone who lives in our area. We wanted to just meet him. So we set a time with them and met them. We didn't know what the plan was or anything. We met them at the Church and we get to know him and then the sisters just leave on us. Like no background on him...but the plan was the Restoration DVD. By the time it was finished the sisters came back. Then we had a quick lesson with him. Man! the senior sister was really good, like really good. But the investigator was really good and interested. I felt bad that we were taking him from the sisters. But its not a competition, so I got over it.
Sunday we had a pretty good Fast and Testimony meeting. The best part was every testimony began with 'I am so glad I made it to 2013' We made it guys. Then there was a training meeting which totally ruined our plans for anything that we had planned with members. Which was most of our lessons. So no fun there, just kinda tracted around our home for a little waiting for the meeting to end. When it did, we did have some success with a member present lesson, but all our other people weren't home.
Well hope you had good weeks. I will leave you with our scriptural thought for the week. This new years trust on the Lord to help you with your resolutions, Remember the counsel in Ether 12, weak things can be made strong. Because like He explained to Moses, Exodus 4:11 And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?. HE made the weakness, he can make the strength, give him a try.
Love,
Elder Westenskow
