Super Awesome Fun Week! (August 27, 2012)

True we did have a super awesome fun week.

We will start from day one. On Tuesday we had some great fun meeting some new people; some are busy all the time, some we might go back to, but it is always fun to meet everyone.

We went to a YSA who is less active, but he does everything; reads, prays, just is too busy to go to church. So, we get there and he has a question from D&C. It was pretty simple...like section 22 about re baptisms, so I was able to answer...so, there is a blessing from Seminary.

Wednesday we met more new people, they seemed pretty cool. One of them was too embarrassed to ask my age, which he thought was like 30+. Then they all said," you're so young" when I said only 20. Its kinda funny that way here.

Thursday I bought a football, good idea.

Friday was pretty packed because we had to wait for our zone leaders to show up to give us an apartment check, which we passed.

Now for the super awesome fun part. On Saturday we had a special missionary meeting with Elder Ardern, President Callister and Elder Cook. That was a truly awesome experience to learn from all of them and their wives. It started off with Elder and Sister Ardern who taught about their experiences as mission presidents and missionaries. Sis Ardern said that missionary work is of the highest order because it is the work of the Lord. Then Elder Ardern taught us some of the most important spiritual gifts that we can ask for, the first is teaching the second discernment. Then Elder and Sister Callister taught about various things. Sis. Callisters talk was about that it's a good thing the Gospel is true. Then Elder Calister taught about becoming a consecrated missionary. Then Sister Cook-who is just a bubbly ball of energy and who was always clapping and saying things like "goodness!", led us in a song. Then Elder Cook, started off by saying a lot about the history of the Philippines, and then said that President Hinckley was always interested in this place because it was going to be important for the whole change of Asia. Then he had a time for Q&A, I took the opportunity to ask what it meant by being a "special witness" of Christ. He then went on about how all the twelve including President Packer felt inadequate to be there. Then he went on on how we all receive a witness, including them differently. Then he blessed us that everyone who is close to me now and in the future is being blessed by my mission. I was blessed that doorways will open in my future and that as I testify my investigators will feel the spirit. So yeah that was pretty cool to be there. Oh and he didn't even try to say my name.
Well that was it for this week. Yeah-Super Awesome Fun Week.
