Fun News

Yeah I got some really fun news. But that will just have to wait till the end.

Tuesday we had the opportunity to contact a referral, he was super prepared, the missionaries who gave it to us had given him a Book of Mormon, Gospel Principles and a George Albert Smith book. He was basically asking us to baptize him, that was really fun. Then we continued teaching all of our other investigators that day.

On Wednesday we have been preparing a man to receive the Melchizedek Priesthood, so we went through some ordinances with him so that he might know how to do them when he gets it. So we taught him blessing the sick. Then the next time we went to him his grandson needed a blessing. So we got to demonstrate, that was cool. Speaking of blessings, on Sunday we had a member that was sick in the hospital, which is really close to the area that we go to on Sundays. So we dropped by and gave her a blessing. As we were doing so we heard a camera click, her room mate was so enchanted that we were doing that she just had to take a picture while we were blessing her.

Thursday we had a Zone Conference in Legazpi. That was super good. We learned all about why prayer was important, and why it is so important for our investigators to pray. Then there was a whole lot of other things told to us. President STRESSED the importance of being obedient and brave to stand up to others because with the younger the missionaries, the less experience they have being on their own. But it was a great meeting.

Friday, we had some fun arguing with a tatay about when we could do some service for him, he wanted it the one day we couldn't do it, because it is his birthday on Thursday and that is the day we have meetings. So we offered it on Wednesday, he said no, we offered Saturday, he said no. SO we settled for Wednesday and moved on from there, that took about an hour just to set that up.

Saturday, we had tons of stuff that we wanted to get done, like go to a whole bunch of people and a baptism, and were totally ready to do it. But as we were heading out we saw and talked to our first visit of the day, they weren't free. Then we went to the referral and he wasn't there. So we went to some of our other lessons they were there and they were pretty effective. Then we had time to go to the baptism. Good planning on our parts.

Then Sunday the best day of the week. Church was alright, one of the people we have been working with gave a good talk in sacrament meeting. The actual best part of the day was teaching our Bobis investigators. We get there and the focus one wasn't home, we felt we should wait. She came about 30-45 minutes later. Then we waited about another 15 minutes for the whole house to be ready to listen. When they were it was powerful. We started by teaching the Plan of Salvation, really quickly about 15 minutes was the plan, we get through it and we both feel prompted to talk about baptism. We then ask the mother if she was willing to exercise faith and be baptized, she wanted to know who would do it if she got baptized. She didn't say yes, but didn't say no. The focus is to just let the people we have been teaching to let us baptize them. But a great step forward.

So now for the fun news, we got a call from the AP's today and told me that I am going to be emergency transferred back into the Naga Zone, it is not because of anything I did they said but still need to be ready to leave by Wednesday. Really sad about this but know that I need to do what the Lord needs me to do. So will keep you updated on that change
Hope all is well at home,

Elder Westenskow
