Yes, this week was quite fun. We had a lot of ups and downs and in-between's.
Tuesday was pretty routine with not a lot of exciting goings ons except that we are preparing some investigators to be baptized and they are quite ready to be baptized.
Wednesday we had a fun lesson that was completely led by the spirit, while we didn't make physical progress with him, we made some great spiritual (or at least closed the) distance between us so now he will start trusting us more. That was a really fun lesson, lessons like those that make me enjoy being a missionary.
Thursday we had a Zone Training where we learned from our ZL's about what we need to start doing in the mission to improve. That was really fun. We have a senior couple in the district we are in and they are quite a wonderful couple. They are just super helpful and DO add a level of maturity to the mission, but they can also be very youthful as well. For example, we had a Zone activity this week and the Elder was playing football and making some great catches with us-just catches-but still, that and volleyball. After that we had exchanges with the Zone leaders so I went to their area. That was really fun. We had tons of work and had some really cool lessons. But instead of being for 24 hours we had them extended because the work was weak in the other area, which kinda frustrated my ZL but all was fine with me.
Then on Saturday, we had some interviews for the ZL's and they all passed. That was pretty cool. Especially since there are like two more in the other district and some coming up next week. This is going pretty good here.
Then Sunday was really really fun. In sacrament meeting, we had the senior couple speak to us about some of the things out of the leadership books. Both bore powerful testimony of the power of visiting teaching and on tithing and offerings and promised blessings for doing it-no there were no promises of aircon, or turning into bbq-but they were both wonderful talks with just the right amount of stories to make them applicable.
Well that about sums it up for this week, hope all is well with you all at home. Tell Sam that I am LOVING the mission and am proud to have a RM cousin that I can look up to and emulate.
Love,
Elder Westenskow
