Greetings from Pasacao

Yes I am in a different area but I did not get transferred. My last companion, Elder Cobing, was called to be the new mission secretary. So he got picked up today and I am going to stay and work in a threesome in Pasacao until transfers and I get a new companion, but that means I will serve in Pamplona for 6 months, whooooo!!!!!!
I was thinking one day about all the foods that I have eaten here including Dinuguan(blood stew, good, if cooked properly) dugo (bbq'd blood feels like a bloody nose) chicken and pig intestine, deep fried fat, yes fat dipped into fat, and earlier today squid. So yeah, you're all probably jealous of the wonderful cuisine that I get to enjoy
here.
This week however was quite exciting. On Tuesday we were going to go find some potential investigators that were written down in our area book, but after a small Q&A session with the members close by we figured they were too far away. But we decided to go back the next day to find at least one of them. So we found who we were looking for, quite to the surprise of the investigator, mostly because she had never had been contacted by the missionaries, but had seen them, so she figured that we were looking for someone else with a similar name. But she invited us in to meet with her and she is pretty interested in the gospel. But the coolest part is that while she said her schedule was pretty up in the air she said that she was not available on Tuesdays-so chalk one up for following the spirit.
This Sunday was a pretty fun Sunday. We had a really good attendance even though there was a Manny Pacqiao fight. They were mostly there to try to help him however possible, like the opening prayer prayed for him; the District presidency councilor used him as an example; in elders quorum we discussed that because we all attended church he would win. Too bad I guess that it was already over before it started for them.  The fact is, it is like the Super Bowl here so our Branch President fed us and had the TV running. I considered it a cultural event and witnessed like 2 rounds, and I had never seen anything be advertised so one sidedly. All of the ad's were about Manny punching his opponent in the face and knocking him through the roof or something. All of the
"unofficial score cards" showed him winning and the replays were of great moves Manny made. Most Pinoys are saying that Bradley cheated somehow. But they love him and he really is the fighting pride of the Philippines. Oh-he also has “preacher” underneath his belt now: he has his own bible study group.
But besides him, both Elder Cobing and I gave talks, me on missionary work -him on
Sabbath day holy. Then as we were about to start Sunday School, the Branch President walked in and asked us to go teach... PRIMARY! SO we walked into a room of like 10 or 11 children of differing age and obedience levels. We start with a prayer and a simple song, then the fun began. I find out that not one, but two of the children have small wild birds in their possession and were willing to fight life and limb to not get rid of the birds, so we let them be. We gave all the children paper and pencils to draw and ask them to draw a ship. As they did, I wrote the words to “Nephi's Courage” on the chalk
board. They drew for probably a good 45 minutes and were happily content doing that. Afterwards we taught a quick lesson on obedience from Nephi's experience. Then gave them a treat and let them loose. Lasted a whole 1 hour 45 minutes. Easiest Primary lesson of my life.
So yeah that has been my week- really fun, rewarding and a little bit sad with my companion leaving and all but not anything I can't get over.
Well hope all is well for all you back home. Aren't you sooooo lucky getting to spend 1 week in a tropical climate while people like me and Sam get to do it for 2 years so yeah... grateful for all the support in the form of prayers and love.
