This week was really full of a lot of different experiences.
On Monday we cleaned the entire apartment for cleaning checks on Thursday. I learned there that muriatic acid and bleach should probably not be mixed. But it does clean algae really well.
OH it is true, ALL fruits are better in the Philippines, just saying.
Tuesday we took a skiff, a motorized sled that is on the train tracks, to one of our areas and it was super fun. I will remember to bring my camera next time we go out there.
Wednesday we spent it getting punted around a bunch. But we met one of our investigators who loves to talk, and always has a story to tell. But this same investigator is super. She has read the Book of Mormon, knows everything we are saying is true, but can't get baptized yet because she isn't married, but she is working on it. On Sunday, she was answering questions in Sunday School like she has been a member for a while, super awesome.
Thursday we had our apartment checks, we passed. The only thing that wasn't good enough to get perfect was our area book but it was a small thing.
Then on Friday we had some exciting news. We had a referral in an area that would be in our branch, but technically is in another area than ours, so we had planned to go there, but decided against it. So, I sent the information to the area who told us that it was in fact our area. So, it was exciting to hear that we could go visit them.
On Sunday we had a RM speak in our Branch. It was pretty cool and he is super cool. Hopefully he stays here for a little bit so we can get a branch mission leader. But if not, now we have someone who can work with us.
I also have a poll I want legitimate ideas for. The Book of Mormon was written for our day, no doubt about that. But why did Mormon feel it important to include verses such as Alma 51:34 or Helaman 1:21? So if you have ideas I would love to hear them.
To respond to your letter... Yes the package is here, I am picking it up today. Yes, I got the post card. That was really fun. So far all the post cards are hanging over my desk.
Julie Andrews sounded really fun, did she sing a song for you?
Our weather here wasn't too bad, I have noticed a trend here though. IF I forget to bring my umbrella (I'm on my third) it rains. But IF I bring it it doesn't rain, so kinda weird.
Abby's reason for not going to birthday dinner was pretty funny though. That sounds so painful, (Abby is having warts removed) but it beats what I had seen done to kill warts here. In my last area one of the other elders had a wart, so during some time during the day they tried to kill it by heating a needle and stabbing it into the wart to try and kill the root. So all we heard was pssss ahhh nope psssss ahhhh nope. It was pretty bad so the zone conference after that transfer Sis Bleissner gave a what not to do when you have a blister, pretty classic.
I saw (Chad’s prom) pictures and they did look good. Hey wait-I gave a talk after prom too remember.
I have been thinking a lot recently of Moses 1:39 and God's purpose. Then I saw a scripture in D&C (I don't remember where) but it said that he will give us glory to glorify himself. That was a really cool thing to think that we do get to take part in this work. While at the MTC one of the GA's gave a talk and basically said that we had received the ability to not fail, and to think and consider ourselves really lucky because HIS work and HIS glory is on the line here and we are lucky to even touch a little part of it. Kinda weird for me to think that it was almost a year ago I opened my call. Puts it all into perspective huh?
Well that was all for this week. Hope all is going well at home.
