Boris the Spider

Kamusta kayo,
This week has been quite an adventure. It started out with splits with the ZL's and ended with a small funeral.

On Wednesday we were being punted all day, and as we were going to another appointment, this member ran out to us asking for a blessing for her Grandpa, who was really sick and had suffered from a a stroke. We get there and he wasn't doing too good, so we gave him a blessing of comfort for him in his last moments and then stayed and supported the family as best as we could. We kept needing to go back there for more and more people who had questions for us.

However this week was also one that had me stumbling into the apartment at night. We really worked quite a lot this week. It was really fun. I enjoy the area the people and my companion This week and the 6th week he makes the junior companion, the senior companion and compares the two weeks so that'll be fun.

Yes. They do have McDonald's here in the Philippines. They serve regular McDonald's food, but they have rice on the side and French Fries. Also they serve spaghetti and fried chicken. There is also KFC here.

The Filipinos have what is called ulam which is rice toppings and they can range from vegetables to some fruit to pork, chicken and meat cooked in different ways. My favorite is a pork dish called tocino. For breakfast they eat rice or eggs or both or whatever no real breakfast meals. I eat oatmeal with hot vanilla drink mix in it. It's good and fills me up. I heard a funny quote: "The fillipino can't live by bread alone but rice will do" I think it is hilarious. They do have some milk but it is really expensive to get.

So I sent some pictures of some creepy crawlies that I found at our apartment hope you like them. I sure did.
